Sacha Lannoye - Contemporary Obsession

28.04.2009 - 15.06.09
Public Room – Promo CENTER

Sacha Lannoye occupies herself with these subjective needs of people. Her products represent her way of thinking, which is a response to human behaviour. She strives to combine content, function and esthetics in a way that they reinforce each other.

By putting recognizable ingredients in a new context, products pass out a message and show people her astonished, ironic view of the world. Therefore they become powerful tools, reaching beyond material matter. Sacha Lannoye CV, www.sachalannoye.nl

There are lots of vases on the market/ sold/ out there with an centric, industrial look or an asymmetric, figurative vases.
Rarely you will see a vase which combines both qualities.
That's why I designed Human Touch.

Human Touch is basically a centric industrial shape, meanwhile, at one side of the vase, the neck of the vase gradually changes into a realistic woman's neck.

Lots and lots of woman get obsessed, even frustrated by wanting to look skinny. Who-ever buys "Size 34" immediately measures up to this ridicules, impossible ideal. This way everybody's perfect.

"Max 20 kg" makes people think about the absurdity to strive for the perfect body. But what do we perceive as "the perfect body"?
