ARTIST in Residence

Public Room offers residence studio for international artists. Organization supports the planning and realization of its residents’ projects, its production, and the development and organization of artistic and cultural projects both in and outside of Skopje.

Capacity

The residence program studio is fully equipped space for maximum two international artists per time. The selection of visual arts is based on individual applications and in cooperation with national, regional and international partners leveled on the standards of originality and creativity. Annually the organization is prepared to host maximum six projects.

Regional cooperation

Extensive number of national and regional institutions comprehends to greater cooperation and achievement. With some of them we have same ambitions. The artists, if interested, are also invited welcome to spend part of their time in one or two other studios in the region.

Publicity

Each of the projects produced by the artists in residence is exposed to national and international publicity. Extensive publishing activities are unavoidable process of the residency program. In cooperation with high quality editing and print companies, prominent national and regional cultural institutions, as well as the PR offices, the organization manages to reach the desired target groups and beyond.

The final works (exhibitions, work presentations, performances) are presented in the Public Room gallery (80m2), or one of the local museums, multimedia spaces, etc. Further, in cooperation with the regional partners we support the presentation of the same projects in several capitals in the Balkans.
